Under certain circumstances, we will recommend cleaning after a fire or mold growth. Our cleaning process begins with removing ever register cover and cleaning both sides. Attach a 3200 CFM vacuum to the plenum to create a negative airflow in the duct runs. Remove supply grills and use a nylon whip that is hooked to a cable that will spin inside ducts removing the dust and sucked into the 3200 vacuum. Air wash and vacuum the HVAC unit. Rehang the registers. Customers will need to supply the new filter if not washable.
Dryer Vent Fire

Your dryer is a household indispensable convenience and necessity. A damaging fire can occur if your clothes dryer is not properly installed and or maintained. According to National Fire Incident Reporting System approximately eight-four percent of dryer fires happen residentially. Clothes dryer fires were higher in the fall and winter months. Failure to clean is the leading factor of dryer fires. It is recommended to clean your lint filter before and after each usage. Clean the back of the dryer incase lint build up. Inspect behind the dryer to ensure that it is not damaged, crushed, and or restricted. We recommend checking to make sure the outdoor exhaust vent has air exiting. If there is no airflow, then there is a clog and you will need to call SERVPRO of Thousand Oaks for dryer vent cleaning.

While so many people are performing their spring time cleaning. SERVPRO of Thousand Oaks is here to give you some tips and ways on how we can help. First its best if your going to perform a deep cleaning, in your house make a check list of what hasn’t been cleaned in a while. When starting to clean make sure to tackle cleaning room by room. One of the biggest parts of spring cleaning is to declutter. It is recommended to categorize into four trash, give away, store and put away. If you have moderate to heavy soiled carpet you may want to have your carpets cleaned more often.
