Your dryer is a household indispensable convenience and necessity. A damaging fire can occur if your clothes dryer is not properly installed and or maintained. According to National Fire Incident Reporting System approximately eight-four percent of dryer fires happen residentially. Clothes dryer fires were higher in the fall and winter months. Failure to clean is the leading factor of dryer fires. It is recommended to clean your lint filter before and after each usage. Clean the back of the dryer incase lint build up. Inspect behind the dryer to ensure that it is not damaged, crushed, and or restricted. We recommend checking to make sure the outdoor exhaust vent has air exiting. If there is no airflow, then there is a clog and you will need to call SERVPRO of Thousand Oaks for dryer vent cleaning.
